Our Mission
Campaign For The Unreached (CFTU) mission is to help in the global effort of strengthening the means of implementation and revitalization for sustainable development by providing basic education for children in rural regions. In addition, CFTU hope to be empowering business minded women in villages by providing financial assistance that will enable them to start a small business in order to help run their homes.
Our Vision
CFTU is a christian based organization and our goal is to provide basic education to children in rural areas, whose parents or guardians cannot afford it due to extreme poverty. We believe that a good basic education is a foundation to eradicate extreme poverty and therefore creating opportunity for sustainable development not only for the children, but for their community, country and in a bigger picture the world.
The genesis of our nonprofit organization
Campaign For The Unreached, is a nonprofit organization that was founded by Fatmata Davies. Ms. Davies grew up in a third world country known as Sierra Leone and her experience as a child in a poor country is similar to millions of children from all over the world. However, she considers herself fortunate and highly favored by God to be in United States of America were she got both her bachelors and master’s degree in computer science. She is by no means where she wants to be in life, but she feels the urge to help by being the voice for the unreached children.
After Ms. Davies narrowly survived the war in Sierra Leone during the late 90’s, giving back has always been on her mind. However, she did not know how to go about it because of her financial constraints. In 2010 after getting her masters in computer science, she went back to Sierra Leone to see her relatives in the provinces. During her trip from Freetown the capital city of Sierra Leone to her village, she observed that the poverty level has increased in comparison to her childhood days. For instance, the narrow roads leading to her village were untarred. When a vehicle passes, the villagers will sprinkle water on the ground in order to save themselves from inhaling the red dust. She also observed that some children were going to school with worn out uniforms, without a pair of shoe and at most one notebook for all of their classes. Above all, what really touched Ms. Davies was how zealous those children were regarding being educated even though their circumstances might not permit a large number of them to get a college education. Just to shine a light on the level of poverty that these children are facing, most of them are walking for approximately 5 to 10 miles to go to school.
Looking back and reflecting on her life's journey, Ms. Davies is convinced that everything about her was planned by God in order to give hope to His people. She said "Now- I know that I am not a mistake because God wanted someone who can advocate for His people and remind them that they are not forgotten and they will never be forgotten if ONLY they can realize that He is their God who loves them... My life is an example, testimony and should give hope. Their present circumstances does not have to determine their future."
As a result of that, Ms. Davies, her mom, and a pastor from her village have started helping some of these children by paying their school fees and providing school materials. Even though she is not there physically, the organization is being managed by her mom and pastor Yamasu.
Finally, Ms. Davies is looking for sponsors that live by this saying “If you do good to the least privileged, you have done it to God through Jesus Christ”. Furthermore, if you do feel the burning desire to help these kids and you are convinced that God is instructing you to be of an assistance, please contact campaignfortheunreached@gmail.com. Please do not hold back; whatever little you can donate will be appreciated by these children.
Thank you and may God bless you-
